The chalet at Oystercatcher Bay Boathouse is situated right on the edge of Coromandel Harbour. It feels like you're almost floating on water! The private bathroom is equipped with all the essentials - a refreshing shower, a hairdryer, and even free toiletries. It's like your own little spa in the chalet. You'll find everything you need in the chalet's kitchenette - an electric kettle, a toaster, and a microwave. It's perfect for whipping up quick and easy meals. I loved the cozy feel of the chalet, especially when enjoying a hot cup of tea from the electric kettle. It's the perfect setting for some quality family bonding time. One of the unique features of the chalet is that it is tidal. Witnessing the water rise and fall right outside our doorstep was a fascinating experience for the whole family. The lounge room in the chalet is a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. We enjoyed watching our favorite shows on the flat-screen TV, making it feel like a home away from home.
Personally, I found that having only a shower in the private bathroom was a bit inconvenient. However, others may still appreciate the simplicity and efficiency of it.

As bike riders, we appreciated the location being just a short drive from Auckland airport.
We felt so taken care of during our stay at the Boathouse that we have no complaints at all.

My partner and I had a wonderful, quiet getaway at this private location with its own jetty. The chalet had everything we needed, and waking up to the sounds of birdsong and enjoying the ever-changing seascape from the comfort of the deck was a delight. The location was also perfect, just a short drive away from the local town with its restaurants and supermarkets. We even had the chance to try the delicious local seafood at the nearby Oyster Shack. Can't wait to come back!
Do recommend this hotel.

The location of this boathouse was absolutely stunning! We loved being right on the water and watching the tides go in and out. It was such a unique experience. The boathouse itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We had everything we needed for a short stay. the little treats provided by the hosts, such as the homemade cumquat jelly and delicious shortcake, were a lovely touch.
One thing to note is that the water to the shore is only available for about 2 hours a day due to the tides. The rest of the time it is mud, so swimming was not an option.

The secluded location and private jetty offered a truly unique and peaceful experience. Being able to disconnect from the busy city life was a much-needed break. the surrounding nature and breathtaking views added to the tranquility. the close proximity to the local town with its restaurants and supermarket made it convenient for dining options or preparing our own meals.
The limited fridge space in the chalet. It would have been helpful to have a bigger fridge to store our groceries without relying on the hosts' fridge space.
